Online enrollment for Affordable Care Act still facing delays
MILWAUKEE - Even before the Affordable Care Act enrollment period officially opened Tuesday, people had plenty of questions about the new program. But the biggest question now is when can I access the online registration?
At the Lisbon Avenue Health Center Thursday, their 1:00pm appointment didn't show up. That wasn't a big surprise really, since the healthcare online marketplace crashed Tuesday, leaving people frustrated.
"We have not been able to enroll a single person yet, because the marketplace is still down as far as we are aware. We've had communication with some of our partners in Green Bay, Wausau, Cashton, and problems are really happening statewide," said Sarah Bailey with Progressive Community Health Centers.
Diamond Patterson's boyfriend has tried all three days, with no luck.
"Like now he has prescriptions he needs to fill, but who wants to pay cash for a prescription when you can get insurance?" questioned Patterson.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says you have a few options. You can call 1-800-318-2596
which is listed on the healthcare.gov
website. You can also print an application through a link on our website and mail it in. The final option is just wait to get online.
