Teen injured following early morning shooting in Racine

RACINE -- A teenager was injured following an early morning shooting in Racine.

According to the Racine Police Department, a 15-year-old male walked into the ER at an area hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigation revealed he was shot around 3 a.m. near Olive Street and Quincy Avenue. At the scene, investigators found a blood trail about a half a block long. 

Residents living near the scene told TODAY'S TMJ4 they heard 5 to 6 gunshots around 2:50 a.m. Dispatchers, however, said they didn't receive a call about someone shot until 3:30 a.m.
  
A cause of the shooting is under investigation.
