RACINE - One man is dead after an overnight house fire in Racine.

The blaze started just before midnight Tuesday in the 5500 block of Wright Avenue.

The Racine fire department identified the victim as Mark S. Halonen, 61.

Police tell TODAY'S TMJ4's Jonah Kaplan that the cause may be related to smoking inside the home, but they have not ruled out other factors.

Officials said most of the damage was centered around the living room, where walls were found melted and the roof had caved in.

The investigation is still ongoing.
