MILWAUKEE - This takeout spot on the city's north side is under new management.  It turns out it's a learning curve for the new owners.

It's Andy's Red Hot at 37th Street and Villard Aveune. When TODAY'S TMJ4 stopped by during the lunch hour, they were taking a short break.

Last week's health inspection said the spot had six critical violations, like no soap at the kitchen sink. There were no expiration dates on hot dogs and gyro meat, and a can of air freshener was sitting on a cutting board.

The owner told TODAY'S TMJ4 by phone they were not open for business when the inspector stopped by, and the cutting board was sanitized before being used.

Chicken was not cooked to the right temperature. The owner said it was not for customers, and he took it off the grill early to show the inspector something.

Andy's Red Hot will be re-inspected next week. The owner said they're ready.

Keeping it clean this week: Ristorante Bartolotta on State Street downtown Wauwatosa.
