Pool announces closure after outbreak of crypto in the area
WHITEFISH BAY - In a communication to its members, the Jewish Community Center has announced it will close its aquatic center for 10 days.
The North Shore Health Department is still working to identify the source of an outbreak of Cryptosporidium.
The JCC told members in an email the move is precautionary to help prevent the spread of the disease.
The North Shore Health Department has not identified a source of the outbreak but is checking local pools, lakes, and rivers.
Coming up on live at noon, the executive director of the JCC will talk about the decision to close the aquatic center.
