Mother charged with suffocating baby gets 25 years in prison
MILWAUKEE - A mother who smothered her baby to death will spend 25 years in prison.
Nora Zylstra confessed to suffocating her 14-month-old with a pillow last March. She also tried to kill herself, but wasn't successful.
Leo Fisher was found dead inside a home near 76th Street and Morgan Avenue in March. Police found Zylstra inside her home lying on the floor. She had taken an overdose of prescription medication.
According to the criminal complaint, Zylstra admits she was upset that Leo's father did not want to get back together and didn't want their child to come from a broken home.
