More than 5,000 lose power Friday afternoon
MILWAUKEE - More than 5,000 customers were left without power across southeast Wisconsin, according to numbers posted on We Energies' website.
The largest outage was in New Berlin, where more than 4,000 customers were without power. A damaged fuse on top of a pole was the cause, according to spokesman Brian Manthey.
Another major outage was centered on Milwaukee's north side near Lindsay Park, where more than 1,000 customers were without power.
Power had been restored to a majority of customers by 6:00 p.m. Friday.
