UPDATE: Power restored in Greenfield and Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE -- We Energies says nearly 2200 customers in Milwaukee and Greenfield are without power as of early Friday morning.
The outage is happening near 20th and Layton near the Mitchell Interchange.
It occurred just before 6 Friday morning. The cause of the outage is curently under investigation.
UPDATE: (11:09 AM): Power has been restored to all customers affected by this outage in Milwaukee and Greenfield.
We Energies spokesman Brian Manthey says the outage was caused by a fault in an underground power line. Power was re-routed and restored to the neighborhood around 8:30 this morning.
He says crews will excavate the faulty line to determine exactly what caused the outage.
