Missing baby from Milwaukee found overnight
MILWAUKEE -- A baby that went missing from a Milwaukee home Wednesday night was found safely in Indiana Thursday morning.
Milwaukee police said the 14-month-old girl's mother, Sharmicka Hickles, 24, failed to return the toddler to the Bureau of Child welfare Wednesday.
"We were in the process of issuing the Amber Alert when the child and mother were located," said Mark Stanmeyer with the Milwaukee Police Department.
A witness in Munster, Indiana notified police after they noticed a child was not placed in a car seat. Hickles was pulled over and identified in a 'request to locate' check.
Hickles faces possible charges.
