Minneapolis police officers fired after altercation in Green Bay
MINNEAPOLIS – Two police officers from Minneapolis have been fired after they were caught on camera berating police in Green Bay.
Brain Thole and Shawn Powell were in Wisconsin back in June when they reportedly got into a street fight.
When Green Bay police broke up the fight they recorded the Minneapolis officers using racial slurs and making derogatory remarks about their boss.
"We have a lesbian [expletive] chief," one said about Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau.
"Doing their little monkey thing," another said, referring to a group of African Americans.
The two officers, both military veterans, were suspended with pay while the department investigated the incident, but they are now off the force. They have filed a grievance with their police union to get their jobs back.
