Milwaukee’s Lakefront Marathon reaches capacity
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee’s Lakefront Marathon reached its 3,100 capacity Friday.
Race organizers said the announcement came nearly one week earlier than last year. It was the fastest registration in the race's 34 years.
Race director Jon Mueller said that since the registration opened in mid-January, he was confident the race would fill in a record time.
“It’s a fast, flat course..." he said in a release. "It’s got the home-town race kind of feel that people keep coming back for.”
The marathon will take place on October 5. Runners will trek from Grafton to Milwaukee’s Veteran’s Park.
