Milwaukee police investigate murder-suicide
MILWAUKEE - A murder-suicide leaves three children without their parents, less than a week before Christmas
A 26-year-old man shot and killed his 26-year-old girlfriend, then himself while their three young children were inside.
"I saw her not even two days ago. She was standing right there in front of her house waiting for her kids to come down the block from school and I just saw them, they were running toward her saying ‘mommy mommy we miss you, we love you’ and it's just really upsetting that I just saw them two days ago and now they're gone," says Nico Longoria.
Longoria was so affected by what happened, he and his mother invited neighbors to join them in remembering the couple, who had lived in the house only about a month.
"This is really horrible. I did it just because of the kids and for the family you know. It's a tragic situation what they did, but still, I mean you still have to pray for them you know," says Sandra Gomez.
Neighbors had heard the couple was arguing over moving back to Arizona, an argument that turned deadly leaving their three girls, all under the age of 6, alone in the house.
"The 6 year old grabbed the girls and sat on the porch, sat in front of the porch until someone saw them and called police," Gomez says.
A story so tragic, neighbors who didn't even know them wanted to honor them like family.
"I don't know them personally but this is just something I have to do. This is just the right thing to do."
