Milwaukee man nabbed for 10th OWI
RACINE -- "Today, the system failed us."
Those words came from an angry Racine County Sheriff after deputies arrested a man for his 10th OWI offense.
Timothy Conley, 44, has nine previous convictions in both Wisconsin and Indiana.
"I think the system failed us," Sheriff Chris Schmaling asserted to TODAY'S TMJ4. "Anyone who is allowed to continue driving like this should be in prison."
The 10th arrest happened Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. along I-94 in Racine County. That's when another driver called 911 to report a reckless driver. The 911 caller claimed Conley was varying speeds, deviating from his own lane of travel and weaving in and out of traffic.
Deputies picked up the vehicle and noticed the same thing. Schmaling explained Conley reeked of alcohol and posted a blood alcohol level of .303 - nearly four times the legal limit.
