MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee County deputy is injured after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. It happened Saturday at about 5:00 a.m. at W/B I-94 just east of HWY 100.

The squad was stopped with its lights activated and the deputy seated in the squad. That's when a suspected intoxicated motorist sped by, and hit the back of the squad.

The deputy in the squad was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect complained of minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating. The driver is identified as 20-year-old Janet Kim of Brookfield. Kim was more than double the legal limit, and was arrested for her first OWI. She faces up to one year behind bars if convicted.
