MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy was injured Monday after his squad car was rear-ended during near-whiteout conditions.

The deputy was at the scene of a crash on I-43 northbound near Hampton Ave. when a driver slammed into his squad car. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said in a release that the driver was going too fast for conditions. The crash forced the squad car off the road.

The deputy was taken to Froedtert Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident marked the seventh time since December a squad car was struck.
