Milwaukee Co. supervisor holds 'sleepover for the homeless'
MILWAUKEE - More than 23,000 people in Wisconsin are homeless, and this morning a Milwaukee County supervisor wants the community to help them.
His pitch is a little different though, he's spending the night in Dineen Park.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Michael Mayo, Sr. hosted the sleepover at Dineen Park on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m.
“The overnight event is designed to raise awareness of homelessness in our community and to encourage donations for Milwaukee County's homeless population,” Mayo said. “Participants have been asked to donate items such as scarves, blankets, jackets and toiletries.”
