State-of-the-art grow lights get Miller Park's grass ready
MILWAUKEE - Opening Day for the Brewers is less than six days away.
Tuesday, the team showed off a new system of high-tech grow lights to make sure the grass is ready for opening day.
Michael Boettcher is the Director of Grounds for the Milwaukee Brewers.
"With the roof being closed all spring long except for three days, when you give grass sunlight it wants to grow," said Boettcher.
The grow lights have helped the grass grow more than an inch in about two weeks.
The grow system is similar to others used at several other stadiums throughout the United States.
