Menomonee Falls business plowed-in
Clearing snow from streets and sidewalks can be quite a battle. And in Menomonee Falls it appears someone might have been picking a fight when they dumped a giant snow bank near a restaurant.
The coffee is always hot at Cafe Agora. But a giant mound of snow is making it difficult to welcome folks in out of the weather.
Vassiliki Bavela, Owner, Cafe Agora: "I don't know why this is happening. I just wanted some answers."
After Sunday's storm, Vassiliki Bavela had the mound waiting outside her restaurant Monday morning.
Vassiliki Bavela, Owner, Cafe Agora: "We make fun and we call it the Mountain of Olympus. The other part is that it's a message sent from somewhere."
Vassiliki thinks the mound placement is punishment for hiring her own plow service, instead of going in on the plaza's plan. In past years, they've put the snow on the outskirts of the parking lot.
The giant mound takes up about a dozen parking spaces, literally building a wall between the restaurant and the rest of the plaza.
Vassiliki is worried her weekend rush will pack the spots that are left, forcing latecomers to park far away and walk around. They say good fences make good neighbors, but for Vassiliki, there's nothing neighborly about it.
Vassiliki Bavela, Owner, Cafe Agora: "I won't leave anybody to do this. Not to me, but especially to our people here."
Vassiliki says she's working on a way to get it all removed. But there's still no solution for the snow that's still on the way.
