MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Marquette University has reached its $15 million fundraising goal to build a new home on campus for its community of Jesuit priests.

President Michael Lovell announced Monday that the remaining $2 million has been raised after nine months of fundraising. The Bernice Shanke Greiveldinger Charitable Trust and an anonymous Marquette alumnus and his wife each pledged a $1 million donation towards the 40,000-square-foot Jesuit Residence.
The Journal Sentinel reports the five-story building, which is funded entirely by donations, will feature 25 resident rooms, five guest rooms, a chapel, a garden and additional spaces for worship and meeting.
The official groundbreaking is set for Aug. 15.
