FRANKLIN -- Two people suffered minor injuries when their car was hit by a man fleeing from an officer Tuesday afternoon.

Franklin police said an officer attempted to stop the car around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday because the registered owner had two misdemeanor warrants.

According to police, the driver ran a red light at the intersection of 27th Street and Layton Avenue and was struck by a westbound car.

After the collision, the 24-year-old man fled on foot.

He was later located and taken into custody.
