Man from Beloit steals car hours after being released from jail

 JANESVILLE -- A man from beloit was arrested for stealing a car and leading police on a high speed chase, only two hours after he was released from jail.

The Wisconsin State Journal is reporting that Michael McThune stole a woman's car from her garage and then led police on a high-speed chase.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Department, McThune was driving as fast as 100 miles per hour down highway 51 when they caught up to him.

McThune allegedly lost control of the car and crashed into a pole before trying to run away on foot. He was caught and arrested. 

McThune is charged with Burglary, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner's Consent, Fleeing to Avoid Arrest, Obstructing/ Resisting Officers, and Operating After Suspension.
