Man beaten, knocked out outside restaurant
MILWAUKEE - Jennifer and Chris Grell have been together for ten years. They have three beautiful children. Tuesday night, she got a call that shook her world.
"He said um, I'm gonna be spending the night in the hospital and I said why, what happened, ya know? And he said um, I was attacked," said Jennifer Grell.
Chris was at his side job, shoveling snow outside Cousin's Subs along Capitol Drive. It was just before dark when a man walked up and knocked Chris unconscious.
"I don't know if it's the knock out game or what it is, but nothing was taken," said Jennifer Grell.
Milwaukee police cannot confirm it's a case of knock out, but do tell us that like the brutal game, Grell was not robbed. On the other hand, knock out attacks involve more than one suspect, and they get a rise of out inflicting pain. This case outside Cousin's saw just one suspect. It's enough to leave Jennifer Grell feeling helpless.
"I'll be a lot more watchful of um, people around me and things because I guess you can't trust anybody anymore," said Jennifer Grell.
The Grell family gives us a real picture of what happens, not only to the victims of such attacks, but to those who love them. Chris Grell's the sole provider for the family, and now, finances are another consideration since he'll be out of work for an undetermined amount of time.
