Nothing suspicious found after Milwaukee high school placed on lockdown
MILWAUKEE - James Madison Academic Campus was placed on lockdown Friday morning after an "unsubstantiated" report of a subject with a gun, police confirmed.
Police responded to a call reporting a subject with a gun around 11:30 a.m.
Lt. Mark Stanmeyer with the Milwaukee Police Department says the caller referred to a room number that doesn't exist, and people were heard laughing in the background of the call.
Officers worked with MPS due to an "abundance of caution," Stanmeyer said. Police say nothing suspicious was found.
The school is located near W. Florist Ave. and N. 84th St. on Milwaukee's northwest side.
