MPD investigating 2 Sunday shootings
MILWAUKEE -- Officers are on the hunt for multiple gunmen responsible for two separate shootings.
The shootings both occurred on the evening of Easter Sunday and police said the victims were not the intended targets.
The first took place around 6 p.m. in the 1100 block of W. Atkinson Ave. Investigators report gunfire struck a 23-year-old man as he was driving his car. He suffered a graze wound and is expected to be fine.
A few hours later, gunfire struck another bystander. This time the bullet struck a woman in her 20's as she was walking in the area of N. 18th and Vine Streets.
The shootings have raised concerns with people who live in the area.
"Something like this, we really have to step our game up with the neighborhood watch and be vigilant," resident Derrick Jenkins tells TODAY'S TMJ4. "We hear sirens at night, but we've never had it here in this neighborhood."
