MPD detective suspended again, this time for allegations of misconduct
MILWAUKEE - A detective with Milwaukee Police is currently being investigated by his own department for alleged misconduct.
Detective Rodolfo Gomez is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, but Lt. Mark Stanmeyer won't give more details on what he is being investigated for.
"The Milwaukee Police Department's Internal Affairs Division recently initiated a criminal and internal investigation into an allegation of misconduct by Milwaukee Police Detective Rodolfo Gomez, Jr.," Stanmeyer said in a statement. "His police powers have been suspended and he has been placed on administrative duty as the investigation is conducted."
Gomez has been with MPD for 11 years, and has been in trouble before. He was arrested in June 2012 for an incident that occurred off duty. During a trial where he was the lead investigator, testimony alleged that he was facing sexual assault, disorderly conduct and assault complaints.
The officer had also been investigated by Internal Affairs after allegedly getting into a fight at a bar in 2011.
