MENOMONEE FALLS - It's been a rough few days for Donna Khimani.

“Sunday morning rolls around and I am throwing up, hard to move around,” said Donna Khimani.

She says she started to feel ill Saturday afternoon after eating two nectarines. But when she passed out, Al rushed his wife to the emergency room.

“She figured it was just the flu or something,” recalls Al Khimani.

It wasn't until the couple received a phone message from Costco that they put two and
two together. The phone message alerted customers the fruit they purchased may be contaminated with listeria.

Donna has no doubt the nectarines she purchased are apart of a national recall. Earlier this week, California based Wawona Packing Company halted operations after a facility tested positive for the food-borne illness.

It's too early to determine if Donna contracted listeria, but the Milwaukee Health Department is investigating.

Meanwhile Donna is looking forward to eating solid food again.

“I’m glad to be alive, but I’m really hunger...ice cream would be nice but I know its not good for me.”
