Local waiter saves man who fell into the river
MILWAUKEE - A waiter ran into the Milwaukee River to save a drowning man. The incident happened at Bel Air Cantina on Humboldt.
Workers heard screams for help coming from the river. Dustin Springer ran down the steep embankment, into the water, and pulled the man to safety.
“He was just really, really out of breath,” Springer said. “He was really, really tired. When I got him on my chest, all he was saying was ‘ugh.’” You know, he was just winded as could be.”
The man was allegedly drunk and fell into the river. He is expect to be okay.
