ST. FRANCIS - For a group of the faithful, a trip to the Vatican began with a blessing from Archbishop Jerome Listecki Mondayafternoon, inside the Mater Christi Chapel.

About 70 area faithful gathered at the archdiocese headquarters for prayer and reflection before setting out on their journey to Rome. They will witness the elevation of two revered leaders of the church to sainthood.
Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II will be celebrated on Sunday and named saints of the Catholic church.
"When you have a canonization, you have heightened spiritual intensity," Listecki said. "It is a time of great spiritual favor."
Estimates put as many as 5 million people in Rome for this weekend's events.
