Kids will be lovin' it: McDonald's restaurants offer help to fire-ravaged school
RACINE - Start Monday with a breakfast that champions community.
The seven McDonald's Restaurants in Racine will join forces on Monday, March 31 to raise funds for the fire-damaged Mitchell Elementary and Middle Schools.
In fact, five percent from the entire day's sales from each of the Racine McDonald's Restaurants will be donated to the schools' rebuilding efforts.
"The day after the fire, I received calls from several teachers and parents to ask about running a special fundraiser for Mitchell," said Dave Jones who operates six McDonald's Restaurants with his family. "So the idea really came from the community wanting to help, and we were happy to come up with a plan."
Customers are also invited to donate school supplies at the restaurants, where McDonald's personnel will ensure the supplies get into the hands of the teachers and students.
