HARTFORD - The man accused of killing a teen from Hartford showed up in court Wednesday for his competency hearing.

Nineteen-year-old Daniel Bartelt faces multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide for the death of 19-year-old Jessie Blodgett.

Investigators say the two dated in high school.

Bartelt was found competent during Wednesday's hearing, and a preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 17, 2013.

Bartelt was already in custody after being accused of assaulting another woman.
