MILWAUKEE - We're learning more about Monday's homicide that claimed the life of a mother of two.

Police confirm Fredricka Hodges, 29, was struck and killed by gunfire on Monday in the 2400 block of W. Center Street. The shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. in broad daylight.
Investigators said a gunman opened fire at a group across the street, and Hodges was caught in the middle. She was sitting in her car.
Officers have no suspects and continue to search for clues. Hodges' community, however, must look for answers about how to make sense of a senseless tragedy.
"The one reality we try to stress is that life is just like a vapor," Hodges' pastor, Bishop Ellis Mercheson, tells TODAY'S TMJ4. "We don't know from day to day what transpires."
