WAUWATOSA -  A massive construction project will close the zoo interchange Friday night.

The section of I-94 between Highway 100 and US 45 will close starting at 11 pm.

Crews will demolish an old overpass and install a new railroad bridge.

The closure will detour tens of thousands of cars to side streets.

Dan Zierath is expecting a boost in business. He's the co-owner of Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub on Bluemound Rd.

"It's going to bring a lot more exposure to our business and our corner, which is obviously going to be a good thing."

Zierath said its all hands-on-deck this weekend, similar to how they staff for Brewers games.

Officials say the zoo interchange is the busiest section of road in the State of Wisconsin.

It's scheduled to reopen before rush hour Monday morning at 5:30 am.
