Homecoming for veterans at the War Memorial
MILWAUKEE-- Veterans Anthony Anderson and Tom Voss are back where they started six months ago.
"Mentally, physically and emotionally I am in a much better place now than I was six months ago," admits Anthony Anderson.
It was a hot and humid day back in August when the pair set out on foot to raise $100,000 for veteran needs. During their 2,700 mile trek there were blisters and aching feet...but more highs than lows.
"It beats out my deployment. It was a good experience," said Tom Voss.
Friends, family and strangers came out Saturday afternoon to publicly congratulate the two for a job well done.
Korean vet Stan Kass wanted to make sure he supported the pair financially. Kass donated more than $5,000 that the two needed to close the gap and reach their goal.
"Because when I was in the Navy we always took care of your shipmates...and you never left anyone behind," said Kass.
