Man arrested for sexual assault of 2 different joggers

MILWAUKEE - A woman jogging on the Oak Leaf Trail Tuesday night was one of two victims of an attempted robbery and sexual assault.

According to Milwaukee Police, a man stopped the 27-year-old woman and asked her for money. When she said she didn't have any, he attacked her, saying he wanted to assault her.

Someone screamed at him and he ran off.

The second incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. when a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was sexually assaulted while running on the bike path in the area of 2200 N. Oakland.

Responding officers were able to identify a suspect, and after a brief foot pursuit the suspect was arrested in the 1300 block of N. Lincoln Memorial Drive shortly after 4 p.m.

The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Police have not yet released his name.
