Happy notes greet students at Wis. middle school
WESTON, Wis. (AP) -- Students at a Wisconsin middle school are starting the second half of their school year on a happy note.
Sixth- and seventh-graders at D.C. Everest Middle School were greeted Wednesday with a handwritten sticky note. The notes carried messages such as "Stay positive today" and "You look great."
It was the first day of the second semester. The idea was to give a mood boost to all 840 or so students and create an atmosphere that discourages bullying.
Students in the school's Student Council, Junior Optimists and Stand Up Against Bullies groups wrote the notes.
Principal Casey Nye says the notes are just one thing the school is doing to create a positive atmosphere.
