MILWAUKEE - At the funeral for one of Milwaukee's youngest victims of violence, there was a call to return to the scene of the crime. The scene of the crime: now abandoned and empty because no one wants to play there anymore.

"We've got to get back on the playground," urged Onjuan Guyton as it roused the hundreds of mourners packed in pews at Tabernacle Community Baptist Church. The father of Sierra Guyton told the crowd that they could no longer be afraid to bring life back into that park.

10-year-old Sierra was as innocent a victim as anyone could imagine. She was playing on the playground when she was shot in the head on May 21st— caught in the crossfire as two men fired at one another.

The third-grader died July 13th.

Her cousins and friends bravely faced the crowd to eulogize her.

"I felt like she could hear me, she was there with me," said cousin Asia Spencer through tears.

The church plans told hold a  "Let the Children Play" event on August 17th to encourage families to return to the playground once again.
