Fun runs may be not so fun
"Fun run" participants reported a number of complaints to the Better Business Bureau this summer, citing cancelled events and abrupt location changes.
BBB Spokesperson Lisa Schiller said a number of runs did not follow through on their promises or made significant changes last minute.
"One recent run was changed from one venue to another, making it almost a two-and-a-half to three hour drive to the venue it was changed to," Schiller said.
Schiller encouraged runners to always research the race beforehand and to pay with a credit card.
"Make sure you check the company's website," Schiller said. "Know what their terms are. Know what their process is and their policies in regard to refunds."
