Former Wauwatosa priest charged with embezzlement misses second court date
MILWAUKEE - Reverend James Dokos has missed his hearing twice now.
Last week his lawyer said it was because of car trouble. This time, he said his client was in the hospital for an emergency, but he wouldn't say what that emergency was.
"What I said on the record is that he's been hospitalized," Patrick Knight, Dokos' attorney, said. "I'm prevented by law by saying anything beyond that."
Reverend Dokos. the longtime former priest at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wauwatosa, is accused of spending more than $100,000 of church funds. Prosecutors say he used more than $20,000 of it dining at places like Fleming's in Brookfield. Samara Sodos has more.
