FOND DU LAC -- Five members of the Fond du Lac Police Department are riding 320 miles on their bikes to remember fallen officers.
"Law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty far too often," said Fond du Lac police Lieutenant Tina Braun.
Braun is riding in the Police Unity Tour, which started today in New Jersey and ends in Washington DC on Sunday.
Her department joined the tour two years ago after one of their own, officer Craig Birkholz, was killed in the line of duty.
Braun said she thinks Birkholz is watching over the riders.
"Hopefully he's giving us a nice tail-wind, which would be appreciated," she said.
This year's ride is for Town of Brookfield Police Officer Donald Bishop who died last year.
"Our motto is we ride for those who died," Braun said.
