Fire in Glendale causes $35,000 in damage

 GLENDALE - The North Shore Fire Department is trying to determine the cause of a fire that caused $35,000 in damage early Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene on the 400 block of W. Bender Road in Glendale at about 5:15 this morning.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports there was heavy smoke on the first floor of the home when firefighters arrived, and a woman had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Two pets also died in the fire.
