Few traffic, parking problems for State Fair's opening day
WEST ALLIS - It's been smooth sailing getting to and from the Wisconsin State Fair.
The Department of Transportation promised construction crews would be finished before opening day.
Big mounds of dirt and construction equipment along I-94 have eliminated 60 parking spaces in the North lot.
Fair Official Kathleen O'Leary said there have been no problems with parking or traffic flow.
"When they finished everything on Sunday, we knew we were in a good place," O'Leary said.
In addition to parking on the grounds, dozens of private lots surround State Fair Park. Those lots range from $10 to $20 dollars.
