MILWAUKEE -- Thousands of lunches will be passed out to Milwaukee children Monday afternoon.

It's part of the Salvation Army's "Feed the Kids" program, which aims to help children who can't rely on school lunches when there is no school.

The wives and girlfriends of Milwaukee Brewers players will help pass out around 1,800 meals beginning at noon at Red Arrow Park.

"Feed the Kids" started in 1990 and has given out 2 million meals since.
