Federal judge rules Mark Jensen can go free
PLEASANT PRAIRIE – Mark Jensen will soon be a free man after a federal judge rules that he was wrongly convicted for murdering his wife in 2008.
The order states that Jensen is to be released within 90 days.
Julie Jensen died of anti-freeze poisoning in 1998. The trial made national headlines. Two weeks before her death, Julie Jensen left a note with a Pleasant Prairie police officer saying that her husband was trying to kill her.
The federal judge ruled that the note should have been inadmissible because it left no witness to cross-examine.
Jensen’s attorneys have maintained that his Sixth Amendment rights were violated.
