Robin Williams' death is stirring a lot of questions in regards to depression, namely how it can be an issue for someone who is financially secure and privileged.

"Depression can play a role in almost anyone's life," Dr. Ashley Schoof of Christian Life Counseling said. "It can happen to anybody no matter how privileged or unprivileged anybody is."

Dr. Schoof said that what makes depression so unique is that only the person who is depressed truly knows the reason for their sadness, and it's hard for someone else to understand that reason and try to help.

"The best thing for those friends and family members to do is to talk to that person," Dr. Schoof said.
