MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett wants everyone to wear jeans to work and school for "Denim Day" on Wednesday.

The day is designed to raise awareness about sexual assault victims.

The inspiration for "Denim Day" came out of a case from Italy. A judge dismissed a woman's rape claims because he said her jeans were tight and she would have had to remove them herself.

The verdict motivated women and men worldwide to dedicate a day to wearing jeans to highlight misconceptions around sexual assault.
