MILWAUKEE -- Drivers need to be aware of all the road construction in southeast Wisconsin.

Some construction plans are already changing beause of tonight's Brewers-Cubs game. The DOT says they're delaying work on southbound lanes of I-94 Friday night to help Chicago fans get out of southeastern Wisconsin.

In Racine County crews will start work later, around midnight, in the southbound lanes between County Hwy K and Golf Rd. There will still be a double-lane closure starting around 10 o’clock in the northbound lanes from Hwy 20 to County Hwy K.

One lane will be open to traffic on both sides.

There is also a major closure Friday night on I-94 near the Zoo Interchange. The interstate will be shut down between the Zoo Interchange and Moorland Rd from 11 o’clock until 6 o’clock Saturday morning.

And because of the interstate shutdown, crews are shutting down northbound Hwy 100. They're going to use the area between Theodore Threcker Way and Bluemound Rd for equipment staging.

More closures are coming in that area on Sunday. Crews will close the last ramp from Hwy 100 to westbound I-94 around 9 o’clock at night. So there will be no westbound access from Hwy 100 until the interchange rebuilding project is complete.

Drivers should slow down in those construction zones, both for the safety of the crews and for themselves.
