HAYWARD -- The Wisconsin DNR is wanting to scale back it's gypsy moth aerial spray program.

The agency now wants to limit spraying to only state lands. Currently, towns and individuals can ask the DNR to spray moth-infested areas.

But the DNR says there are private companies that can do the aerial spraying and the gypsy moth threat has decreased.

There is also less federal money to help cover the costs.
