Cudahy man charged in last week's standoff

CUDAHY -- A Cudahy man was charged Thursday, accused of shooting at his neighbors and police officers in a standoff on April 4

According to a criminal complaint, Steven J. Cynova, 34, was intoxicated and threatening suicide during a video chat with an out of state friend.

When police responded, Cynova shot a gun inside his home and refused to come outside. He then shot into the neighborhood several times from the second story balcony and front door of his building, according to the complaint. 
 
The shots he fired entered a nearby home, where three residents were at home.They were not harmed.
 
The standoff lasted more than four hours. Officers shot Cynova in the arm when he opened fire.
 
If convicted of all charges, Cynova faces up to 56 years in prison.
