MILWAUKEE -- The lakefront was lit up Thursday night during the annual US Bank Center’s fireworks display, and people packed into Downtown to see it.

But all those people left behind plenty of trash. Before the Independence Day grilling, picnics and parties in the park can happen today, crews are hustling to clean up the mess.

Last night, Veteran's Park was filled with people who came to enjoy the show with their families. But when the show was over, there was a big mess to clean up. Bags, and empty bottles scattered everywhere.

A friendly reminder for families who'll be filling the parks to enjoy the holiday weekend: throw away your trash, or, take it with you.
