MILWAUKEE - A hearing has begun at the Milwaukee County Courthouse, where executive Chris Abele will roll out a plan to cut $50 million from the county's budget - a move that will include laying off 182 county employees. It's a story that one of our viewers, Lori, asked us to investigate.

Abele's proposal is also looking at making county employees pay more out of their own pockets for healthcare coverage.

The executive's plan to cut $12 million from the Sheriff's Department has drawn a lot of controversy and even sparked a war of words between Abele and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.

Said Clarke about Abele's proposal: "Abele should be drug tested. He has to be on heroin to be hallucinating with that wild proposal."

Clarke also threatened to sue in court if the cuts are approved.

The meeting is set for 9 this morning at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
